Mission Statement
The mission of J Square Design is to solve problems through the application of knowledge and experience, such that the result is aesthetically pleasing and eminently usable.
This is how I approach every project, no matter what the medium. Maybe I'm just naive, but in my experience working on everything from a mom & pop web site to million dollar enterprise software, I've found that any project can be broken down into a set of problems, and those problems have solutions which I see as my job to find. I also agree with Buckminster Fuller in that one doesn't find the "right" solution, until it's not only technically correct, but beautiful in its execution.
Unlike many companies, making money is not my primary mission. If that were the case, I would've quit my full-time job a long time ago to focus on soley on this. Instead, I keep my full-time job so I can support my family, which of course is my primary responsibility, and I keep J Square Design on the side so I can tackle challenging problems outside what I normally see at work. Though I won't do it again (so don't ask), I've even done projects in the past for free, just because I was tempted by a challenge.
The joy I derive from this company is simple. I like to build things and I like to solve problems. J Square Design is my outlet for doing this -- nothing less and nothing more. If you have a problem that needs solving, let me know.
