- Led the development of the interaction model and interface design for
all products in HP's Business Service Automation (BSA) suite
- Prototyped next-generation product designs in DHTML and Adobe Flex
- Managed a team of designers in support of
BSA product development
- Supported feature development of the Server Automation product with
detailed UI specifications and mockups.
- Contributed to design and development of enterprise software variant
of HP's brand and behaviour standards (One Voice), including creation
of production-ready example code.
Opsware Inc. - Sunnyvale, CA
Position: User Interaction Architect
Term: June 2005 to October 2007
- Led the development of the interaction model and interface design for
the new Opsware Server Automation System (SAS) desktop application (Java/Swing),
which took the UI from being a
competitive weakness to a competitive advantage.
- Coordinated with Product Management to define features that meet customer
needs as well as maintaining competitive advantages
- Prototyped interface designs (paper and Visio), to gain cross-departmental
sign-off's, and validate against requirements
- Defined detailed user interface specification documents to communicate
application designs to engineering, product management,
QA, and documentation
Sun Microsystems Inc. - Santa Clara, CA
Position: User Experience Architect
Term: November 2002 to June 2005
- Primary designer for the overall user experience and hybrid
AJAX-enabled
web interface design for the N1 System Manager, which constitutes the
infrastructure provisioning component of Sun's system management software
- Primary designer for the N1 Grid Provisioning Server, which constituted
the datacenter virtualization layer of the N1 Grid System
- Headed product re-branding effort to migrate Terraspring web console product
to match Sun branding and UI guidelines
- Researched requirements, accessed customer needs, and coordinated development process
across multiple departments
- Developed user model, use cases and scenarios which drove the interaction
model and object model development of various Sun products
- Prototyped interface designs (paper, html, and PHP/MySQL),
to gain departmental buy-in's, and validate against requirements
- Contributed to development of new UI architecture
for JATO/JSF/JSP
environment that affords extensibility (patents pending)
- Contributed to development of a method for displaying extensible or scalable
icons (patent pending)
- Designed interactive drag-and-snap tool for iconic interfaces (patent

Terraspring - Fremont, CA
Position: User Interface Designer/Developer
Term: August 2001 to November 2002
- Assumed interface and interaction design for Terraspring's enterprise data
center management software, which was implemented as a
JSP web console interface targeted
to the Internet Explorer browser.
- Collected and integrated various user and developer data to assist in planning
for product road-map
- Developed next-generation prototype interfaces using a variety of tools
(DHTML,
XUL, etc.)
- Developed intranet site for Terraspring - not implemented due to purchase
by SMI
- Provided print and web material for marketing support
